Conquer Winter: Loader-Mounted Snow Plows for Your Kubota Compact Tractor
Winter is no joke, especially for those of us who need to keep driveways, paths, and properties clear of snow. For compact and subcompact tractor owners, investing in a loader-mounted snow plow like the Ai2 60" Loader Mounted Snow Plow could be the game-changer you need to handle snow removal with ease. Let’s explore why these snow plows are the perfect winter weapon for your tractor and how to choose the best one for your needs.
Why Loader-Mounted Snow Plows Make Sense
Compact and subcompact tractors like the Kubota BX series are compact, powerful, and versatile, making them a favorite among homeowners and small property managers. Adding a loader-mounted snow plow takes their utility to the next level by transforming them into efficient snow-clearing machines. Here’s why:
1. Increased Efficiency
Loader-mounted snow plows can move large amounts of snow quickly. Unlike a bucket, which requires repetitive scooping and dumping, a plow allows you to push snow aside in a single pass, saving time and energy.
2. Easy Installation
Loader-mounted snow plows attach directly to the front loader arms of your tractor using a quick-attach system like our Ai2 Quick Attach. This design ensures easy installation and removal, making it convenient for those who need to switch between tasks.
3. Precision Control
Modern tractors’ hydrostatic transmissions combined with the flexibility of a loader-mounted snow plow gives you precise control over your snow-clearing operations. Some plows feature hydraulic angle adjustments, allowing you to direct the snow exactly where you want it.
4. Built Tough for Winter
Loader-mounted snow plows are built to handle the rigors of winter. With heavy-duty steel blades and skid shoes, these plows are designed to cut through ice and snow without damaging your tractor or your driveway.
Choosing the Right Loader-Mounted Snow Plow
When shopping for a loader-mounted snow plow, there are a few key considerations to keep in mind:
1. Compatibility
Ensure the plow is compatible with your compact or subcompact tractor. Look for models specifically designed for the BX series with the 3-pin design, or for others that have skid steer quick attach.
2. Blade Width
The blade width should match the size of your tractor and the area you need to clear. For most compact and subcompact tractors, a blade width between 54 and 72 inches is ideal.
3. Hydraulics
Many loader-mounted snow plows come with hydraulic systems for adjusting the blade angle. If your tractor has a front third-function hydraulic connection, consider a plow with this feature for maximum efficiency.
4. Build Quality
Invest in a plow with a heavy-duty steel blade, durable skid shoes, and a robust attachment system. Winter conditions can be harsh, so durability is essential.
Tips for Successful Snow Removal
- Plan Your Routes: Decide where to push the snow before you start. This will prevent unnecessary rework.
- Mind the Depth: For heavy snowfall, tackle the job in layers instead of trying to clear it all in one go.
- Stay Safe: Always wear proper winter gear and take breaks as needed. Operating a tractor in freezing conditions can be physically demanding.
- Maintain Your Equipment: Regularly check your tractor and plow for signs of wear and tear, especially hydraulic connections and blade edges.
Make Winter Work for You
Owning a tractor means you’ve already got the power and reliability to tackle tough jobs. With a loader-mounted snow plow, you’ll breeze through snow removal and keep your property looking great all winter long.
So, whether you’re clearing your driveway, creating pathways, or managing a larger property, a loader-mounted snow plow is the ultimate winter upgrade for your Kubota. Click to learn more about our line of Ai2 60" Loader Mounted Snow Plows or give us a call at 260-225-3429 today! Embrace the season with confidence—and maybe even a little excitement—as you transform your tractor into a snow-clearing powerhouse.
Small Upgrades, Big Impact: Best Kubota BX Accessories
The Kubota BX is one of the most popular compact tractors on the market—and for good reason. It's maneuverable, powerful for its size, and packed with features that make it a great all-around workhorse. But like any factory-built machine, it’s designed to serve a wide range of users in a wide range of scenarios… not necessarily optimized for the specific jobs you're doing.
A few smart upgrades can make a big difference in how your BX handles real-world tasks. Whether you're digging, hauling, towing, or trailering, the right BX accessories can help your tractor work smarter, stay safer, and perform better.
Here are a handful of upgrades that BX owners often add after a season or two—once they realize what their machine could be doing better.
Oversized Backhoe Stabilizer Feet: Get a Grip Where It Matters
If you’ve ever tried to dig with your BX backhoe and found the whole machine shifting or sinking as you apply pressure, you’re not alone. The factory outrigger feet are small—fine for firm, flat ground, but less than ideal when you're on soft soil, gravel, or uneven terrain.
One of the most useful Kubota BX accessories for stability, upgraded stabilizer feet offer a significantly larger surface area. That extra footprint spreads out the weight of your machine, keeping your backhoe planted while you dig, especially in wet or loose conditions. Optional rubber pads can also be added to protect hard surfaces like concrete or pavers.
It's the kind of upgrade you don’t notice until it saves you a ton of frustration—and once you've had it, you won't go back.
Bucket Hooks: Because You’ll Use Them More Than You Think
One of the first BX accessories many owners reach for is a set of bolt-on bucket hooks—and for good reason. These hooks instantly expand the utility of your loader. Lifting logs, pulling posts, dragging debris, chaining down a load—suddenly, your bucket becomes a multi-tool.
Unlike generic hooks, those made specifically for the Kubota BX bucket bolt on cleanly, with no welding and no risk to your equipment. It’s a small investment that makes a big impact on what you can get done.
Think of them as grab handles for your tractor—strong, simple, and endlessly useful.
Tie-Downs: Make Transporting Your BX Safe and Simple
Trailering a BX sounds easy—until you’re trying to figure out where to run your straps. The factory doesn’t offer much in the way of securement points, which is why front and rear tie-down kits are some of the most functional Kubota BX accessories you can add.
Designed specifically for the BX series, these bolt-on tie-down brackets give you reinforced anchor points for safe, legal trailering. Whether you're heading to a job site or hauling equipment for service, these kits make the whole process faster and safer.
A must-have if your BX ever leaves the property—and a huge stress-saver when it does.

Wheel Weights: A Clean Alternative to Liquid Ballast
Weight equals traction—and for compact tractors like the BX, that often means the rear end can get too light, especially with loader work. Many BX owners eventually look for a better way to stay grounded.
BX wheel weights are a clean, removable solution that helps balance your tractor without the mess or permanence of liquid ballast. They bolt on easily, improve stability, and can be removed or swapped as your needs change.
More bite, more stability, and better control—without messing with tubes or pumps.
Tooth Bar/Cutting Edge: Dig, Rip, and Scrape With One Simple Upgrade
One of the most popular Kubota BX accessories—and one of the most transformative—is a bolt-on tooth bar that functions as both a digging edge and a durable cutting edge. Designed to fit the BX bucket with no welding required, this single upgrade significantly expands what your front-end loader can handle.
Need to tear into compacted soil, roots, or gravel? The serrated edge gives your bucket the bite it needs to break through tough material. But it’s just as effective for scraping, back-dragging, and smoothing surfaces—making it a versatile tool for everything from landscaping to snow clearing.
Unlike add-ons that need to be swapped out depending on the task, this tooth bar is engineered to stay on full-time, offering both aggressive digging power and clean scraping performance in one durable package. It’s a serious alternative to other well-known designs on the market, with a focus on strength, precision fitment, and long-term value.
One simple addition. A lot more capability.
Final Thoughts: The Right Kubota BX Accessories Make a Difference
These aren’t flashy upgrades. But they are BX accessories that can make your tractor safer, more capable, and better suited to the work you actually do. Whether you’re a first-time BX owner or you've been running one for years, these add-ons are about solving real problems with simple, well-engineered solutions. They’re the upgrades you don’t always know you need—until you’ve had them. Then, they just feel like part of the tractor.

Tractor Tools Direct Grows Again!
Here at Tractor Tools Direct we have always operated under the motto: “Compact tractors do real work!” That is why we are excited to announce an expansion of our company that will allow our customers – small-acreage farmers, land managers, foresters, and producers of hay and pine straw – to get even more work out of their beloved compact and subcompact tractors. This expansion is the acquisition of Ai2 Products from Minnesota.
Ai2 Products designs and manufactures custom compact utility tractor attachments for Kubota compact and subcompact tractors. Owned and operated by Tony Ashwill, Ai2 is best known for its flagship product, the HD Quick Attach, which took the Kubota BX world by storm back in 2007. Since then Tony has been designing and fabricating a variety of attachments for Kubota tractors. Demand for his products was so great that it soon became his full-time business.
Enter Tractor Tools Direct. TTD owner and president, Pat Goodwin, consistently keeps an eye out for businesses whose focus aligns with his. After researching Ai2 – studying Tony’s products, videos, manufacturing and marketing strategies – Pat realized that Tractor Tools Direct and Ai2 are companies that complement each other well. Both:
- Cater to operators of smaller compact tractors.
- Have a strong ecommerce presence.
- Support their products and provide stellar customer service.
- Provide high-quality, commercial-duty products.
For these reasons, Pat reached out to Tony this past summer looking to partner. After discussion they determined that the needs of both companies would best be met by the acquisition of Ai2 by Tractor Tools Direct. This will allow Tony more time to design new products and oversee quality control while Pat can focus on increasing manufacturing output, streamlining shipping, and expanding marketing through his team at TTD. Don’t worry - manufacturing will still be right here in the USA, and Tony will still be available to provide the great customer support for which he’s so well known.
You’ll still be able to view and navigate the Ai2 website as you always have. However, when you click to make a purchase, you’ll be forwarded to the same listing on the TTD website - where all Ai2 products will also be listed. Ai2 products will now ship from the centrally located TTD warehouse in Indiana.
Tony and Pat will be working together closely over the coming months to ensure a seamless merger of the two companies. In the future, they will be introducing even more new and unique products to the Ai2 lineup, as well as expanding into attachments for other tractor brands and tractor sizes. Stay tuned, as Tractor Tools Direct continues their dedication to the idea that compact tractors do real work!
For more information and for an introduction to Tony Ashwill and Ai2 Products, view this video. If you have any further questions, please give TTD a call at 260-BALE-HAY or Ai2 a call at 320-331-1055. We look forward to helping you put your compact tractor to work!
Think Outside of the Rocks With an Ai2 Rock Bucket!
A rock bucket, regardless of the word “rock” in its name, can be used for many tasks besides rock removal on a small farm when used on your tractor’s front loader. Here at Tractor Tools Direct we specialize in two models of rock buckets in our line of Ai2 products – the Ai2 48" Rock Bucket For Kubota BX 3-Pin Style Attachment and the Ai2 48" Rock Bucket For Skid Steer Style Attachment. Let’s discuss the small-farm tasks you can tackle with these buckets and the differences between the two models.
Rock Bucket Design
First, what is a rock bucket? A rock bucket is a front bucket attachment for a tractor or skid steer featuring heavy-duty, pointed, spaced tines. Its design makes it useful for a myriad of small-farm chores including:
- Clearing rocks, roots, concrete debris from garden plots and fields yet allowing good soil to remain.
- Sifting and sorting the aforementioned materials.
- Hauling large volumes of material including rock, firewood, etc.
- Earth grading for small construction sites, gravel roads, etc.
- Tilling soil in garden beds, small crop plots, or lawns.
- Refreshing compost.
- Rotating burn piles.
Rock Bucket Size and Tine Spacing
When shopping for a rock bucket, one should note the weight, depth, and tine spacing. Too light and the strength of the bucket is in question. Too heavy and loader capacity is reduced. Too shallow and not as much material can be carried. Too close of tine spacing and dirt won't fall through easily. Too wide of spacing and large items cannot be hauled and fail to be separated out.
Why an Ai2 Rock Bucket?
Made in the USA with US-made steel, Ai2 Rock Buckets have all the previously mentioned features dialed in. They come in two models of the same size – one designed for use with Kubota BX tractors and one for use with a variety of skid steer brands. At only 190 pounds, Ai2 rock buckets weigh less than the competition without sacrificing strength and quality. Their aggressive teeth easily tear into soil, sod, brush, mulch, and compost. Their 3" spaced tines let them sift out rocks and debris, and back-dragging with their pointed teeth leaves behind a nice seed bed.
A rock bucket is a versatile attachment that allows you to get more work out of your compact tractor or skid steer. Who doesn’t want that? Introducing the Ai2 Original 3-Pin Quick Attach For Kubota BX Tractors
Are you a Kubota BX owner who's looking to expand the capabilities of your front loader! Then look no further! Tractor Tools Direct now carries Ai2 Kubota BX products including the Ai2 Original 3-pin Quick Attach. This attachment is the industry standard for a simple, strong, lightweight solution for getting the most out of your compact tractor!
The Ai2 Products Kubota BX Attachments 3-Pin Quick Attach was designed specifically for the Kubota BX tractor. Ai2 Products came out with the original Kubota BX Quick Attach in 2007, and through multiple iterations, it continues to be the best solution for those wanting to make better use of their BX’s front loader. The use of the stock 3-Pin bucket system means you can still use your original bucket without modification. The Ai2 design minimizes weight and physical size, meaning you maintain more of your loader capacity than with other solutions, even compared to Kubota’s newer 80 Series quick hitch system.
This quick attach uses our signature round tube design, which maximizes strength and rigidity while minimizing weight. The lock pins are cut from a single piece of ⅜” plate, providing maximum surface area in contact with the attachment’s pins. When removing the lock pins and D-clips to switch attachments, they can be conveniently stored on board in a slot and hole right behind the attachment point. The loader pivot points also integrate a rollback stop and a forward stop just like the factory Kubota BX bucket to help prevent cylinder damage in either direction.
The entire Quick Attach is constructed of 3/16” A36 plate using the tab and slot design which interlocks all of the parts, creating a lightweight yet very durable design for years of use and abuse. All of our Kubota BX attachments are blasted and powder coated using a Kubota orange color, and are manufactured right here in the USA!
This Kubota BX Attachments Quick Attach was the first product ever designed and manufactured by Ai2 and the one that put Ai2 onto the Kubota BX attachments map back in 2007. It’s one of the first must-have BX attachments you’ll want for your Kubota BX tractor!!
